Two security officers were shot and killed during a business robbery in Durban.
According to Kyle van Reenen, Emer-G-Med spokesperson, the incident happened in the morning along London Crescent, Springfield, Durban.
Van Reenen said when paramedics arrived at the scene, they found two men, aged between 40 and 50 years old, who had sustained gunshot wounds.
“One man was found to have sustained fatal wounds and there was nothing paramedics could do to assist him. He was declared dead on arrival.
“The second (man), was found in a critical condition and advanced life support paramedics worked fervently to save the man, however he sadly succumbed to his injuries and died on the scene.”
Van Reenen said reports from the scene indicate that the men were working as security officers at the business when they were confronted by armed people during a business robbery.
A shootout ensued resulting in the tragedy, just as police visited the scene to investigate the situation.
