The Delta State Capital Territory Development Agency (DSCTDA) Environmental Task Force held a mobile court session today from 7:00 am to 10:00 am, convicting 38 individuals for violating the state’s environmental sanitation laws.
The Head of Environment at DSCTDA, Mr. Isaac Nwoso, informed the court that the offenders were apprehended while conducting personal business instead of participating in the mandatory monthly sanitation exercise.
Mr. Nwoso stated that the offenders had breached the state’s environmental sanitation laws and urged the court to impose appropriate sanctions to serve as a deterrent to others.
Representing the Director-General of the DSCTDA, Patrick Ukah, Mr. Nwoso emphasized that the government had intensified its monitoring efforts to ensure residents improve their environmental hygiene.
He further urged the public to consistently maintain cleanliness in their surroundings to promote a safer and healthier Delta State.
