INSECURITY: Battle Ready Killers Whisk Delta NLC Chairman

There is palpable fear, as the Delta State Chairman, Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Comrade Goodluck Ofobruku, was abducted by heavy gun carrying men.

The suspected Fulani herdsmen kidnapped Comrade Ofobruku, at about 8:00pm on Saturday while driving out of his house behind Immigration Office along Ibusa-Asaba road.

Before Comrade Ofobruku, was taken into hostage, the bandits robbed a beer parlour along the Street.

NLC Secretary in the state, Comrade Innocent Ofoyade, disclosed that his boss was in the Union’s Sienna Bus to purchase drugs when the hooligans swoop on him.

According to the NLC Scribe, “Ofobruku, was intercepted by the hoodlums along his Street. The abductors were yet to establish contact with the family of the victim”.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Onome Onovwakpoyeya, confirmed the abduction on Sunday.

“It is a case of armed robbery and abduction. They were actually robbing along the street when the NLC chairman was driving out and he was eventually abducted.

“They were robbing a shop at the same time he was driving out of his compound when they took him and entered into the bush.

A manhunt has been launched against the criminals to ensure that he is rescued alive.
