A 13-year-old girl has been detained after she delivered through a Caesarean section by the management of St James Hospital, Sapele, the administrative headquarter of Sapele local government area of Delta State.
It was gathered that the parents could not afford to pay the N250, 000 billed them for the caesarean delivery by the hospital.
The C-section was carried out on the girl following her tenderness to go through the normal delivery process.
The girl who was raped by her choir master in the church around Okoloko Bridge in Sapele, few months ago, got pregnant from the act.
It was learnt that the teenage girl was living with her grandmother when the ugly incident occured
According to report with little or no knowledge of how to manage the situation coupled with the trauma that emanated from the rape, she withdraw into herself shells.
It was learnt that she kept the secret to herself as she barely do not know who to confide in until her stomach started protruding when she visited her parents during the holidays.
It was gathered that the parents discovered when she began to display symptoms of pregnancy, after she was duly taken to the hospital for test where it was confirmed that she was pregnant.
Meanwhile, the choir master who disappeared her has disappointed into thin air leaving her to face this unfortunate situation all alone, after he got wind that his secret deed have been made known.
Her parent has been given her the support they could all these months, when it was time to give birth the parents where advice by the doctors that in order to keep her and the baby alive, she should be operated on, because she has no strength to go through labor pain/process, since she is a teenager, so she was operated on.
She eventually gave birth to a bouncing baby boy, but she is still in the hospital because her parents could not raise the N250,000 (Two Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira) charged by the hospital for the operation.
